The HI5421 Benchtop DO and BOD Meter is designed for high-precision measurement of dissolved oxygen in research, environmental, and industrial applications. The included HI76483 Clark-type polarographic probefeatures a built-in thermistor for automatic temperature compensation and can measure oxygen in a wide range from 0.0 to 600% saturation and 0.00 to 90 mg/L. Users can calibrate the meter automatically at two points or define a custom single-point calibration, while GLP mode displays calibration data, date, time, and points alongside the current reading. The built-in barometer compensates for barometric pressure changes, and preset salinity adaptation ensures accurate DO readings across varying water conditions.
Beyond dissolved oxygen, the HI5421 offers additional modes to measure Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Oxygen Uptake Rate (OUR), and Specific Oxygen Uptake Rate (SOUR). These modes allow users to enter the appropriate values and have the meter automatically calculate the results. Combined with color LCD display, capacitive touch interface, and logging options (automatic, manual, AutoHold), the HI5421 provides a versatile, research-grade tool capable of storing and transferring up to 100,000 data points for analysis, reporting, and laboratory compliance.
