Description
The HI98703 is a portable, precision meter designed for turbidity measurements in drinking water and environmental monitoring. Its state-of-the-art optical system uses a tungsten filament lamp and 25 mm round cuvettes to reduce stray light and color interferences, ensuring highly accurate and repeatable readings. The dual detectors at 90° and 180° allow the meter to operate in ratio nephelometric mode, providing reliable measurements across the full turbidity range of 0–1000 NTU. Calibration is performed using AMCO AEPA-1 primary standards, which are non-toxic, reusable, and NIST-traceable, guaranteeing long-term performance and traceability.
The HI98703 also emphasizes usability in field and lab environments. A backlit LCD guides users through measurement and calibration steps, while the Fast Tracker™ system allows tagging of measurement locations and timestamps using iButton® tags. Up to 200 readings can be stored internally and transferred to a PC via USB or RS232for further analysis. Its rugged design, battery or AC power options, and complete GLP data recording make the HI98703 suitable for water treatment facilities, wastewater monitoring, and environmental field studies.
