Description
The BGD 126 Zahn Cups are precision stainless steel cups designed for quick and accurate viscosity measurement of liquids such as paints, inks, varnishes, syrups, and oils. Produced according to ASTM D816, D1084, and D4212 standards, each cup features a 12-inch loop handle with a finger-ring for easy vertical handling and a factory-set orifice diameter to ensure reliable results. Flow time is measured in Zahn-Seconds, which can be converted to centistokesusing the cup’s unique coefficient “K”, allowing precise viscosity calculations. Each cup comes with a calibration certificate for traceable accuracy.
The Zahn Cups cover a wide flow and viscosity range depending on the model (No.1–No.5), making them suitable for thin-bodied liquids, lacquers, enamels, flexographic inks, more viscous paints, and silk screen inks. Measurement is done using a simple finger-stop method with a digital stopwatch, and results are reported at a standard temperature of 25℃±1℃. Manufactured with precision CNC-drilled orifices and NIST-traceable oils, these cups provide consistent, accurate, and standard-compliant viscosity measurements for laboratory or industrial use.
