The Rhopoint IQ Flex 20 is a precision instrument designed for measuring gloss, haze, and reflective properties on small or curved surfaces with a 20° measurement angle. It offers a gloss range of 0–100 GU and 100–2000 GU, with high repeatability (0.2 GU / 0.2%) and reproducibility (0.5 GU / 0.5%). The device has a compact measurement area of 6 mm × 6.4 mm and is compliant with major international standards, including ISO 2813, ASTM D523, ISO 7668, and DIN 67530. Calibration is traceable to NIST standards with an uncertainty of 1.1 GU, ensuring accurate and reliable measurements across a variety of surface finishes.
In addition to gloss, the IQ Flex 20 measures near-specular haze (switchable between Haze Units and Log Haze Units) with a resolution of 0.1 HU, repeatability of ±0.5 HU, and reproducibility of ±1.5 HU. It also quantifies Reflected Image Quality (RIQ) and Distinctness of Image (DOI) with resolutions of 0.1 and excellent repeatability and reproducibility metrics. These combined capabilities make the instrument ideal for high-precision quality control in automotive, industrial coatings, and specialty surfaces where small-scale or contoured measurements are required.
