Description
The TQC Adhesion Test Kit (HPK) is a specialized instrument designed to assess the adhesion quality of both new and existing paint layers on wood and wood-like surfaces. Developed in the Netherlands by FOSAG and SKH, this method minimizes damage to the substrate while providing a reliable evaluation of paint adhesion. The kit allows for precise measurements with wet film thickness tests ranging from 50–160 µm, leveling tests of 1, 1.5, and 2 mm, and film applicators from 0–180 µm in 20 µm steps. Various edge radii (2, 3, 4, 5 mm) are included to suit different testing requirements.
The adhesion is evaluated by comparing the amount of paint removed on the adhesive tape with the paint remaining on the wood surface. The results are classified on a scale from 0 to 5, providing an objective and reproducible method to determine coating performance. The kit comes complete with a cutting tool and adhesive tape, while additional tape can be ordered separately for extended testing.
