The Obsnapmeter Sheen Taber Abraser is an industry-standard instrument designed to determine the abrasion resistance of materials by measuring their ability to withstand mechanical wear such as rubbing, scraping, and erosion. Widely used across industries, it evaluates the durability of parquet flooring, metals, leather, textiles, rubber, paints, coatings, lacquered surfaces, carpets, and more. Available in single-head (Model 5135) and dual-head (Model 5155) configurations, the Taber Abraser complies with a broad range of international standards including EN, ISO, ASTM, DIN, BS, and TAPPI, making it suitable for laboratory quality control, research, and product development applications worldwide.
Built for precision and ease of operation, the instrument features selectable turntable speeds of 60 or 72 rpm, a user-friendly digital interface with tactile buttons, and internal memory for storing test parameters. Stainless steel weights provide standard wheel loads of 500 g or 1000 g, while the Quick Release Mounting Hub allows fast and secure wheel changes without locking nuts.
