Description
The Automatic Film Applicator BGD 218/S and BGD 219/S is designed to help experimental chemists produce precise and uniform coating films on a variety of substrates. By automating the drawdown process, the instrument minimizes human error caused by manual application and ensures consistent shear rate and downward force during coating. This significantly improves the reproducibility and reliability of paint film testing, making it an essential tool for laboratories involved in coatings, inks, adhesives, and material research.
These latest models feature wide-range stepless speed regulation from 5 mm/s to 500 mm/s, along with high-precision linear guides to maintain stable and consistent drawdown speeds. The push rod automatically adapts to substrate thicknesses from 0–20 mm, while the adjustable clamping fixture allows flexible positioning for different panel sizes. The BGD 218 models use a vacuum adsorption aluminum plate with extremely high flatness (less than 5 microns) for secure substrate holding, while the BGD 219 model uses a precision glass plate for easy cleaning. Additional features such as a detachable platform, flexible starting point setting, compatibility with various applicators and wire bars, and an external vacuum pump (BGD 218) make the system versatile, efficient, and ideal for achieving high repeatability in coating film applications.
