Description
The S.E. International AM-2×2 is a continuous radiation area monitoring system designed for high-sensitivity detection in critical environments. Utilizing a 2×2 NaI(Tl) scintillation probe, it operates over an energy range of 30 keV to 2 MeV with a sensitivity of approximately 9000 CPS/mR/hr (¹³⁷Cs). The system monitors dose rates from 0.1 to 2 mR/hr (0.1–20 µSv/hr) with automatic response times ranging from 20 to 2 seconds, providing rapid and reliable detection of gamma radiation. Users can view readings via a 4.3-inch TFT touch screen with 65K true colors or a 5-digit LED display, with selectable units including µR/hr, mR/hr, µSv/hr, mSv/hr, CPM, KCPM, CPS, and KCPS, allowing flexible monitoring for various operational requirements.
The AM-2×2 includes visual and audible alarms with ultra-bright strobes, up to three relay outputs, and remote control capabilities through USB and Ethernet for networked monitoring. Its rugged steel enclosure ensures durability, and it operates in temperatures from −10°C to +50°C with 10–70% relative humidity. Power is supplied via a 12 VDC adapter with an internal battery providing up to six hours of operation, ensuring continuity during outages. Applications include hospital room monitoring, laboratories, accelerators, X-ray machines, portal monitoring, and general radiation source detection, making it ideal for both safety compliance and environmental monitoring in professional settings.
