Description
The BGD 297 Pressure Density Cup provides a reliable method for measuring the density of liquid coatings while minimizing errors caused by entrained air. Many paints naturally trap air during production, which can affect density readings. This instrument compresses the paint sample to a pressure of 150 p.s.i., reducing the air bubbles to negligible volume, and ensures the volume of the sample corresponds precisely to 100ml (100g of water at 16.7°C). This allows highly accurate and reproducible density measurements even for paints containing up to 10% air by volume.
Constructed from stainless steel, the instrument is durable, easy to clean, and conforms to ISO 2811-4 and BS 3900 A22 standards. Each cup comes with a calibration certificate, ensuring traceable and reliable measurements. The design, including a hollow cylinder, plunger, and pressure release cap, allows for precise compression and standardized testing, making it suitable for both laboratory and industrial quality control applications.
