Elektropyhsik- MiniTest 70 Coating Thickness Measurement

A compact, handheld coating thickness gauge that uses magnetic induction and eddy current technology to measure coatings on metals with high accuracy, repeatability, and lightweight portability.

  • Measuring range: Up to 3 mm (ferrous) / 2.5 mm (non-ferrous)
  • High accuracy & repeatability: ±1.5 μm + 3% (1-point calibration), ±1 μm + 1% repeatability
  • Automatic substrate recognition using dual sensor (eddy currents/magnetic induction)
  • Lightweight & portable: Only 80 g (2.8 oz) with long-lasting, wear-resistant probes

Description

The ElektroPhysik MiniTest 70 is a compact, high-precision coating thickness gauge designed for reliable measurement of coatings on both ferrous and non-ferrous substrates. Utilizing magnetic induction for ferrous metals and eddy current principles for non-ferrous metals, the device provides highly accurate readings with integrated 32-bit signal processing (SIDSP®). It offers a measuring range of up to 3 mm on ferrous materials and 2.5 mm on non-ferrous materials, with excellent repeatability and low-range resolution down to 0.5 µm. The MiniTest 70 supports both 1-point and 2-point calibrations and includes statistical functions such as minimum, maximum, average, and standard deviation, making it ideal for quality control in industrial coatings and surface treatments.

Lightweight and ergonomically designed, the MiniTest 70 weighs only 80 grams (2.8 oz) and is highly portable, allowing easy use in the field or laboratory. Its dual-sensor technology can automatically identify substrates (in non-F models), and its robust, wear-resistant probes ensure long-term reliability. The device operates in temperatures from –10°C to 60°C and can store measurements in metric or imperial units. Certified to international standards including DIN EN ISO and ASTM, the MiniTest 70 delivers precise, repeatable, and convenient coating thickness measurements for professional inspection and manufacturing applications.

Features

  • Measurements of coating accuracy up to 3 mm (F range) and 2.5 mm (N range).
  • Eddy currents or magnetic induction are used in tandem with a dual sensor to automatically identify substrates (not in model F).
  • Long-lasting probes that are resistant to wear.
  • Lightweight at only 80 grammes (2.8 oz).
