Hanna Instruments HI83414-02 EPA Compliant Benchtop Turbidity and Chlorine Meter

The HI83414 Benchtop Turbidity and Chlorine Meter is a multi-parameter tabletop instrument designed for accurate monitoring of water turbidity and free/total chlorine. Its advanced optical system, 25 mm round cuvettes, and 525 nm narrow band interference filter ensure minimal stray light and color interferences for highly reliable readings. With EPA-compliance, multi-point calibration using AMCO AEPA-1 and CAL Check™ standards, and complete GLP traceability, it guarantees precise performance. The meter also offers a backlit graphic LCD, contextual help, tutorial mode, USB data transfer, and storage for 200 readings, making it ideal for lab-based water quality testing.

  • Four Measurement Modes: Ratio or non-ratio for turbidity, free chlorine, and total chlorine
  • Multi-Unit Turbidity Display: NTU, EBC, Nephelos units
  • Calibration & Traceability: 2–5 point turbidity calibration, CAL Check™ for chlorine, AMCO AEPA-1 primary standards
  • User-Friendly & Data Ready: Graphic LCD, tutorial mode, contextual help, USB connectivity, 200 readings storage

Description

The HI83414 is a benchtop multi-parameter meter for precise turbidity and chlorine measurements in drinking water, wastewater, and environmental samples. The instrument employs a tungsten filament lamp, dual 90°/180° detectors, and 25 mm optical cuvettes, with a 525 nm narrow band interference filter for accurate free and total chlorine readings. Turbidity can be measured in ratio mode (0–4000 NTU) or non-ratio mode (0–40 NTU), while free and total chlorine ranges from 0–5 mg/L. Calibration is performed with AMCO AEPA-1 primary standards for turbidity and CAL Check™ standards for chlorine, ensuring traceable and reliable results.

The HI83414 also emphasizes ease of use and data management. A backlit graphic LCD provides clear step-by-step guidance, while tutorial mode and contextual help assist users during measurement and calibration. Up to 200 measurements can be stored and transferred via USB to a PC using HI92000 software. Its robust design, AC power supply, and GLP functions make it ideal for laboratory applications where accuracy, repeatability, and compliance with EPA and Standard Methods are required.
