Hanna’s polarographic dissolved oxygen probes use the HI7041S electrolyte fill solution. The electrolyte solution you use is critical to the performance of your dissolved oxygen probe.

The HI7041S is intended to replenish the electrolyte solution for polarographic dissolved oxygen probes. The Ross and Clark polarographic measurement method is at the heart of polarographic sensor technology. A platinum electrode and a solid silver electrode make up an oxygen probe. A PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) membrane holds a concentrated potassium chloride solution over the electrode of the HI7041S. An external voltage is applied to the platinum cathode, silver anode, electrolyte solution, and gas-permeable membrane in polarographic technology to generate a current proportional to the concentration of oxygen in a solution.
