Description
The HI991003 meter has a sizable multi-level LCD display that simultaneously shows pH, pH-mV, ORP, and temperature measurements with a precision of 0.01 pH and an accuracy of 0.05 pH. Additionally, the LCD panel offers on-screen instructional instructions and indicators for calibration stability and status. Numerous sophisticated capabilities, such as Sensor Check, automated calibration, buffer identification, and temperature adjustment, are present in the HI991003, which are often only found in more expensive portable instrumentation. At startup, the battery percentage level is shown to inform the user of the remaining battery power.

pH electrodes from Hanna Instruments come in a huge selection and are available for a range of uses. Among the design factors are the pH-sensing glass type, bulb form, body material, connection type, reference type, and electrolyte used.
The HI12973 uses general purpose (GP) glass, spherical bulb, titanium body, and cloth junction with gel electrolyte.
General Purpose Glass Formulation
As its name suggests, General Purpose (GP) glass is a common glass formulation that is utilized for everyday purpose. A pH electrode made of GP glass will measure pH of samples that are at room temperature and will have a resistance of 100 megaohms at 25°C. Use the HI12973 with samples that range in temperature from 0 to 80°C.
Spherical Bulb
The spherical bulb is intended for general use. Conical tips are another type of tip, while flat tips are used for surface measurements.
Titanium Body
A body made of titanium boosts resistance to magnetic and electrostatic fields. Strong corrosion resistance is also made possible, even in seawater. The exterior of our titanium-bodied electrodes doubles as a matching pin. A differential measurement method called a matching pin is used to get rid of ground loops and common mode disturbances in the measuring system. Electrical currents in the samples can alter the reference half cell voltage in a system without a corresponding pin. For secure, accurate pH readings, the matching pin isolates these current/magnetic fields from the reference electrode.
Cloth Junction
On electrodes with gelled electrolytes, this kind of connection is frequently utilized. This connection has the virtue of being renewable; as the cloth-like material is removed from its location, the junction is refreshed with a clean, new surface.
Quick Connect DIN Connector
The quick connect DIN connector is used by the HI12973. These connectors are typically exclusive to the meters they are given and could not be interchangeable. BNC, screw type, T-type, and 3.5mm connections are a few examples of other connector types.
