Description
The S.E. International AM-7149 Radiation Area Monitor is an advanced energy-compensated GM detector system (LND 7149) designed for high-range and precise radiation area monitoring. With an energy sensitivity of 1.5 cps/mR/hr, it can measure dose rates from 0.1 up to 16,000 mR/hr (0.1–160,000 µSv/hr), making it ideal for environments with potentially high radiation exposure. The monitor provides NIST-calibrated readings within ±10% of true values, ensuring accurate and reliable measurements. Its 4.3-inch TFT touch screen display and 5-digit LED readout (65K colors) allow users to monitor radiation levels in various units such as µR/hr, mR/hr, µSv/hr, mSv/hr, CPM, kCPM, CPS, and kCPS, with programmable visual and audio alarms for immediate alerts.
Equipped with up to three relay outputs, USB VCP, and 10 Base-T Ethernet, the AM-7149 supports remote monitoring, data logging, and alarm control. Power is supplied via a 12 VDC wall adapter with SLA battery backup providing 5–6 hours of operation, while high voltage is user-adjustable from 200–1200 V. Housed in a rugged steel enclosure, it functions reliably within −10°C to +50°C and 10–70% relative humidity. Applications include room monitoring in hospitals, laboratories, accelerators, and X-ray facilities, as well as portal monitoring for doors and walkways, providing robust protection and continuous radiation awareness in demanding professional environments.
