Description
The Met One 010C Wind Speed Sensor and 020D Wind Direction Sensor are precision instruments designed for accurate and reliable monitoring of wind conditions in harsh environments. The 010C anemometer measures wind speeds up to 60 m/s (125 mph) with a starting threshold as low as 0.27 m/s (0.6 mph) and an accuracy of ±1 % or 0.15 mph. Its fast response time, with a distance constant under 5 ft of flow, allows it to capture rapid gusts, while the optional aluminum cupset extends performance for turbulent conditions. The sensor operates in temperatures from −50 °C to +85 °C, draws minimal power (12 VDC at 10 mA), and is housed in anodized aluminum for durability. Features like a built-in heater ensure long bearing life, and the sensor is designed to reduce turbulence effects, making it ideal for environmental monitoring and research stations.
The 020D Wind Direction Sensor provides precise azimuth measurements from 0–360° with electrical linearity of ±0.5 % and an accuracy of ±3°. Its low threshold of 0.6 mph and short delay distance of under 3 ft ensure rapid response to changing wind directions. The sensor supports selectable voltage outputs (0–5 V or 0–2.5 V), operates over −50 °C to +85 °C, and comes in a rugged anodized aluminum housing with IP65 protection. With features like elevated damping, quick-detach connections, and field-replaceable electronics, the 020D complements the 010C for a complete and reliable wind monitoring solution in both research and operational meteorological applications.
