The BGD 245 Intelligent Fineness of Grind Tester addresses the challenges of traditional grind gauge testing, where inconsistent scraping and subjective judgments can reduce accuracy and repeatability. The instrument automatically draws the paint sample at consistent speed and power, captures images of the particles in the groove, and applies intelligent algorithms to identify true particles, tiny bubbles, scratches, and pits, ensuring reliable fineness measurements. The system displays particle distribution, defect counts, and the final fineness value in real time, enabling rapid and objective testing.
Designed for convenience and precision, the instrument supports single-channel, double-channel, and wide-channel grind gauges with different ranges (0–25µm, 0–50µm, 0–100µm, 0–150µm) and works with both water-based and solvent-based paints. Operators can adjust recognition thresholds, inspect enlarged images, set reading times, and manually correct misjudged particles to ensure consistency between human and system evaluation. Test results can be downloaded as PDF documents, making this a comprehensive, automated solution for laboratory and industrial quality control of paint particle fineness.
