Hanna Instruments – HI98319 Marine Salinity Waterproof Tester

The HI98319 Marine Salinity Waterproof Tester is a compact, high-accuracy instrument designed for measuring salinity in marine and aquarium environments. It calculates salinity from conductivity using internationally recognized methods and displays readings in ppt, PSU, or specific gravity (S.G.). Featuring an amperometric graphite sensor, it minimizes polarization effects for stable and reliable readings. With automatic temperature compensation and waterproof design, it is ideal for field and on-site marine testing.

  • Measures Salinity in ppt, PSU, or Specific Gravity
  • Amperometric Graphite Sensor – No Oxidation, Reduced Polarization
  • Automatic Temperature Compensation (5–50°C)
  • Waterproof, Compact & Supplied with Calibration Solution

Description

The HI98319 is engineered for accurate marine salinity testing, calculating values from conductivity measurements based on International Oceanographic Tables (1966) and Standard Methods 2520. Users can select preferred units including parts per thousand (ppt), Practical Salinity Units (PSU), or specific gravity (S.G.), making it versatile for aquaculture, reef tanks, and seawater analysis. The dedicated calibration button automatically recognizes the 35.00 ppt calibration standard, simplifying setup and ensuring reliable performance.

Equipped with an amperometric graphite conductivity sensor, the tester reduces polarization effects and resists oxidation, improving durability and stability. A large LCD display shows stability indicators, battery status, and calibration tags. With automatic temperature compensation (ATC) and selectable auto shut-off, the HI98319 delivers accurate measurements in a lightweight, waterproof design suitable for marine professionals and hobbyists alike
