Description
The HI7042S electrolyte solution is specifically designed for galvanic dissolved oxygen (DO) sensors, which consist of a zinc anode and silver cathode immersed in an electrolyte. These probes do not require an external voltage to operate because the natural potential difference (>0.5 V) between the electrodes drives the measurement. The oxygen from the sample diffuses through a membrane, reacts with the electrodes, and generates a current proportional to the dissolved oxygen concentration.
Maintaining a proper electrolyte level is critical for accurate, reliable DO readings in aquatic and environmental monitoring. The HI7042S comes in a convenient 30 mL bottle, allowing for easy refills and continuous probe operation. This solution ensures that the galvanic sensor maintains optimal function without the need for frequent replacements or complex maintenance procedures.
