Description
The HI7042S is intended to replenish the electrolyte solution for galvanic dissolved oxygen probes. Galvanic sensor technology does not require an external voltage because the potential difference between the cathode and anode is greater than 0.5 volts. Galvanic DO sensors are made up of two electrodes, a zinc anode and a silver cathode that are both immersed in an electrolyte solution. The anode and cathode are separated from the water being measured by an oxygen permeable membrane. The diffusion of oxygen across the membrane interacts with the probe internals to produce an electrical current proportional to the concentration of oxygen in a solution.
