Description
The HI3831F-050 reagent set is designed to quickly and reliably measure free chlorine in water using the DPD method. In the test, the sample is adjusted to a pH of ~6.3, and the DPD reagent reacts instantly with any free chlorine present, forming a reddish-colored complex. The intensity of the color correlates directly with chlorine concentration, and a color comparison cube allows for an accurate visual determination of the free chlorine level.
These replacement reagents are intended for use with the HI3831F test kit, providing enough chemicals for approximately 50 measurements. Using this reagent set eliminates the need to purchase a new kit when the original reagents run out, ensuring consistent testing accuracy. Monitoring free chlorine is essential for safe drinking water, swimming pools, and other water treatment applications, as it confirms adequate disinfection and compliance with EPA residual chlorine guidelines.
