Description
The high-quality, pre-measured reagents in the HI3831F-050 allow users to evaluate free chlorine using the chemical test kit quickly and precisely. The DPD (N,N-diethyl-p-phenylenediamine) technique is used by these reagents to calculate the concentration of free chlorine.
The sample is initially brought to a pH level close to 6.3 in order to determine the amount of free chlorine. The DPD reagent is instantly oxidised when it is introduced to a sample that contains chlorine. A reddish-colored complex is created as a result of the interaction between the reagent and the chlorine; the higher the concentration, the more intense the hue. The free chlorine concentration can be accurately determined using a side-by-side visual comparison using a colour comparator cube. These chemicals are intended to be used with samples whose free chlorine concentration is anticipated to be between 0.0 and 2.5 mg/L (ppm) Cl2.
