Met One- E-BAM Portable Environmental Beta-Attenuation Mass Monitor

The Met One E-BAM is a portable beta-attenuation mass monitor that provides accurate, real-time PM2.5 and PM10 measurements for outdoor air monitoring. Its rugged, all-weather design and versatile power options make it ideal for long-term ambient air studies.

  • EPA-Class III Compliant: Accurate PM2.5 and PM10 measurements without adjustment factors
  • Real-Time & Reliable: Continuous monitoring with selectable averaging intervals from 1 to 60 minutes
  • Portable & Field-Ready: Lightweight, tripod-compatible, and all-weather design
  • Advanced Data & Power Options: Touchscreen interface, long-term data storage, and AC/DC/solar power compatibility

Description

The Met One E-BAM Portable Environmental Beta-Attenuation Mass Monitor provides real-time, high-precision measurements of particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10) using beta attenuation. It continuously samples ambient air at 16.7 L/min onto a 30 mm × 21 m continuous glass fiber filter tape, allowing over 60 days of operation per roll. Fully compliant with U.S. EPA Class III standards, it delivers accurate results without adjustment factors and can measure semi-volatile nitrates and organic chemicals. The system features an actively controlled inlet heater for consistent humidity, a 597A ambient sensor for temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure, and a 4.3” graphical touchscreen for intuitive operation.

Data can be stored internally for up to 2.6 years at 60-minute averages or externally via USB, with communication options including RS-232, RS-485, and USB, compatible with COMET™, Air Plus 5, or HyperTerminal®. The lightweight, all-weather design supports tripod deployment and operation with AC, DC, or solar power, making it ideal for field, regulatory, and research applications such as air quality monitoring, fugitive emissions studies, and environmental research.

Features

  • Accuracy and precision in line with Class III PM2.5 and PM10 measurement standards set by the U.S. EPA.
  • No adjustment factors, real-time, accurate results regardless of the time of year or location.
  • Accurate measurements of semi-volatile nitrates and organic chemicals are made possible by ambient sampling.
  • A tripod may be quickly and simply placed on a lightweight, durable design.
  • True ambient sampling is possible thanks to all-weather architecture.
  • Uses AC or DC electricity to operate. There are choices for solar energy.
