Description
The Met One E-BAM PLUS Portable Environmental Beta-Attenuation Mass Monitor is a robust, field-ready instrument designed for accurate, real-time measurement of PM10 particulate matter. Using the beta-attenuation principle, the E-BAM PLUS continuously samples ambient air through a 16.7 L/min inlet onto a 30 mm × 21 m glass fiber filter tape, capable of over 60 days of operation per roll. The system is EPA-designated (EQPM-1215-226) for PM10 measurements, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. It features an actively controlled inlet heater to maintain consistent sample conditions, a carbon-14 beta source, and a photomultiplier tube with organic plastic scintillator for precise particle mass detection. Ambient temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure are recorded using the integrated 597A sensor, supporting reliable, context-aware measurements under a wide operating range (-30° to +50°C, 0–90% RH).
The E-BAM PLUS also emphasizes usability and data management. A 4.3” graphical touchscreen provides intuitive control and monitoring, while data can be stored internally for up to 1.3 years at 60-minute averages or externally via USB. Flexible analog and digital interfaces, including RS-232, RS-485, and USB, allow integration with COMET™ and Air Plus 5 software or direct cloud reporting. Its durable, lightweight design supports tripod mounting for true ambient sampling in any environment. The E-BAM PLUS delivers precise, real-time particulate measurements, including semi-volatile nitrates and organic compounds, making it ideal for environmental monitoring, regulatory compliance, and research applications.
