Description
The Fineness Gauges are essential tools for controlling the production, storage, and application of dispersed products in industries such as paints, plastics, pigments, printing inks, ceramics, pharmaceuticals, and food. The gauge consists of a flat steel block with one or two flat-bottomed grooves whose depth varies uniformly, allowing operators to assess the degree of dispersion. The fineness is indicated in microns (µm) or on the Hegman scale (0–8 H), where higher numbers correspond to finer dispersions, providing a quick and reliable method to detect coarse particles or agglomerates.
Constructed from hardened stainless steel, each gauge ensures high precision and durability, with groove flatness controlled to less than 3µm and a measurement tolerance of ±2µm. The gauges are manufactured to conform to ISO 1524, ASTM D 1210, ASTM D 1316, and DIN EN 21524 standards, and every unit comes with a calibration certificate. This combination of accuracy, reliability, and compliance makes Fineness Gauges an indispensable instrument for laboratories and production facilities aiming for consistent quality and effective process control.
