Radiation Alert Frisker

Applications & Uses:

Screening personnel and objects, such as packages, surfaces, and clothing, Surveying for NORM (Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material) contamination, Gross wipe counting, Contamination surveys of packages, equipment, people, etc., Regulatory inspections, Low energy radionuclide detection.

Description

Specifications:

Detector
Halogen-quenched GM tube with thin mica end window. Mica window density 1.5-2.0 mg/cm2. Effective diameter of window is 45 mm (1.77 in.). Side wall is .012 inch thick.

Operating Range

Up to 50 mR/h. Instrument begins readings in µR/h and changes to mR/h at 1000 µR/h

Up to 500 µSv/h. Instrument begins reading in nSv/h and changes to µSv/h at 1000 nSv/h

Energy Sensitivity

Detects Alpha down to 2 MeV. Detects Beta down to .16 MeV; typical detection efficiency at 1 MeV is approx. 25%. Detects Gamma down to 10 KeV through the detector window. 3600 CPM/mR/hr (137Cs). Smallest detectable level for 125I is .02 µCi at contact.
