Description
Over time, a glossmeter’s performance can gradually decline due to normal wear and tear, exposure to harsh environments, or accidental impact. This drift can directly affect measurement reliability, making regular servicing and calibration essential to maintain accurate and trustworthy results. Without proper calibration, even small deviations can lead to inconsistent quality control outcomes in manufacturing and testing processes.
Calibration ensures the instrument remains aligned with traceable national standards (NMI) through the use of certified calibration tiles. To maintain optimal performance, it is recommended to conduct annual recalibration (minimum 1 year) and immediately replace any scratched or damaged calibration tiles to prevent incorrect readings. Proper calibration practices guarantee accuracy, consistency, and standard compliance in every measurement.
