Description
The high-quality, pre-measured reagents in the HI38020-200 enable users of the chemical test kit to quantify free and total chlorine quickly and precisely. The DPD (N, N-diethyl-p-phenylenediamine) technique is used by these reagents to calculate the concentrations of free and total chlorine.
A sample containing chlorine is mixed with the appropriate DPD powder reagent to determine the amount of free and total chlorine. A complex that is pink in hue forms as a result of the reaction between chlorine and the reagent; the higher the concentration, the more vibrant the colour. A Checker Disc is provided to accurately compare the concentrations of free and total chlorine using a side-by-side visual examination. The predicted free and total chlorine ranges for these samples are 0.00 to 0.70 mg/L Cl2, 0.0 to 3.5 mg/L Cl2, and 0.0 to 10.0 mg/L Cl2, respectively. These reagents are made to be used with low, medium, and high-range samples.
